What is DriveProtect?

DriveProtect is a Membership organisation for Motorists in England and Wales who’ve either received a Speeding Ticket, or want to protect themselves in the event of future speeding issues.

We retain specialist Speeding Solicitors on behalf of Members to give you unlimited legal advice relating to speeding and motoring offences, and — when necessary — to prepare your case and defend you at Court.

We started in 2009, and have helped thousands of Motorists in that time.

Why use DriveProtect?

We retain a firm of specialist Speeding Solicitors who we have a long term relationship with.

The Solicitors we contract with for Members have a proven track record, are highly professional, actually care about giving the correct advice and getting the best possible outcome for Members before, or at, Court.

The problems with going direct to a firm of Solicitors yourself are:

1) The cost (see below!)
2) The difficulty of selecting a good one

Solicitors vary in price significantly. Even if money is no object to you, choosing a good one is not necessarily a case of “more expensive is better”.

Recently we did a newsletter on a 74 year old Driver who spent £12,000 on his representation.

To his Solicitors credit, they had the case thrown out the day before he was due in Court.

However, he couldn’t claim a single penny of the £12,000 legal fees he’d paid!

Even if it had gone to trial, and he’d won, he could only have claimed a *small fraction* of his costs back due to rules that were introduced in 2012 (Schedule 7 Legal Aid, Sentancing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012) which means you can only claim back at legal aid rates, and not what you have actually spent on your Defence.

And — in my personal opinion — you don’t get the best, most interested, and experienced Lawyers at these rates!

In short, by becoming a Member of DriveProtect, you’ll have the Lawyer selection taken care of for you, and the cost will be *much* less than going to a Solicitor direct.

What You Can Expect

The best outcome is that you could have your speeding ticket cancelled or “thrown out” if there is some procedural error.

But even in the worst case where you have no legal defense at all, its still essential to use good specialist solicitors to put forward Mitigating Circumstances on your behalf.

This can be the difference between a hefty fine and a long ban vs a small fine and potentially no ban at all, or a much shorter one;

Mitigating Circumstances

If there is no legal defense to a ban, Mitigating Circumstances or “mitigation” is where you request a much lighter penalty — or in some cases no penalty at all — because it would, for example, cause exceptional hardship to someone.

Having a good Solicitor who knows how the system works is essential to present your case for mitigation. They do it day in, day out, so they know what Courts generally look for to “go easy” on you.

This is an often overlooked part of using a skilled and committed Solicitor who is looking for the best possible outcome for you.

Are Lawyers “good” or “bad”?

Similar to estate agents and used car salesmen, Solicitors are disliked by many people!

I used to be one of them, thinking that they are simply greasing their own palms as part of a corrupt legal system.

And although that can be true in some cases, my 16 years of experience has totally changed my opinion on Solicitors.

Just because they are operating within a corrupt system (which vilifies and extorts Motorists), they don’t necessarily agree that its a just system.

Without exception in my experience, GOOD Solicitors all share one thing in common: They care about the outcome.

They HELP us fight back against Government overreach when they attack us with speeding tickets and other punitive penalties.

Many of them are actually pretty funny off the record, and enjoy telling stories of how they’ve helped people who’ve been persecuted by the Police over speeding “offences”.

It’s true that good Lawyers charge a lot of money. However, the majority of that money goes to the legal firm they work for, and not to them directly.

Most Lawyers just earn a normal salary like in any other profession.

I think there is a misconception that appears to be perpetrated by the media, that all Lawyers are leeches who are in it for the big money they supposedly earn.

My experience has been very different to that.

I can tell you honestly that in my experience, Lawyers — and speeding offence Solicitors in particular — are really decent people who help us fight back against the immorality of the Government and Police, who persecute Motorists so badly in this country.

Is DriveProtect Good Value?

Well, I would say its far better than that.

In comparison to going direct to a top Solicitor when you are “caught” speeding, its really incredible value!

That’s easy to simply say. So let me show you why its true:

We recently wrote a newsletter on a pensioner, John Anderson, who spent £12,000 on his initial consultation, the subsequent fact finding, case preparation, and representation.

This is not an uncommon figure to spend with top quality Lawyers these days!

It could be less expensive for a less proven Lawyer, or significantly more expensive for a well proven one. See the many “celebrity lawyer” stories in the press over the years as examples!

For Monthly DriveProtect Membership, you would have to be a Member for 407 months (or 33.9 years) to reach the cost of just that one single case!

The 100 DriveProtect Lifetime Memberships will be better value still; just a tiny fraction of that figure for unlimited consultation, case preparation and representation at Court, for life.

Lifetime Membership will also give you the peace of mind that the vetting process has been taken car of for you. We use road traffic Solicitors who are effective, passionate, and have a high success rate. And we’ve worked with them for over a decade now.

I think that this makes DriveProtect Membership incredible value if you value you’re driving licence – wouldn’t you agree?
